Strategy.

Reimagined and rebranded a long standing community organization in Calgary, Alberta. innfromthecold.org

The Challenge

Inn from the Cold, a vital community organization, was trapped by its name. The public perceived it as a seasonal, cold-weather shelter, critically undermining its mission of providing year-round support for families. This misperception limited its donor base and community engagement.

The Strategic Shift

I architected a new identity framework that made calculated, decisive shifts in language, color, and imagery—replacing cold, seasonal cues with a warm, sun-soaked palette and a tone reflecting perpetual support and hope. This foundational work culminated in a full rebrand, designed to permanently realign public perception with the organization’s true, year-round reality.

The Outcome

The strategic plan was fully adopted, giving the client a clear roadmap to deepen connections and support long-term sustainability. The new brand was developed and rolled out across key touchpoints, delivering measurable improvements in clarity, consistency, and public perception. By realigning messaging, visuals, and tone with the organization’s year-round mission, the rebrand strengthened community engagement, expanded donor confidence, and positioned Inn from the Cold for continued growth.
